WEEKEND PROGRAMME

Friday 18th July to Sunday 20th July
Celtic and Crop Circle Camping weekend, Oare, Wiltshire

The delights of Celtic Wiltshire beckon us again: Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill [largest manmade structure in Europe, 5000 years old!], and West Kennett Long Barrow. And of course crop circles – these wonderful forms of communication from our friends in the wider universe. We stay on a beautifully maintained campsite with the superb White Heart pub 10 mins down the road. Walking will be easy under foot [grass & low hills]. We will cover up to 15 miles on Saturday & around 8 on Sunday, depending on quantity of crop circles encountered

Friday 17th October to Sunday 19th October
Trawden, Lancashire / Yorkshire South Pennines
Trawden camping barn
Enjoy the pretty waterfalls, heather moorland and deep wooded valleys of ‘Bronte Country’ by day, as well as funky, arty Hebden Bridge and quaint Haworth, located just 30 minutes drive away. Top Withins (Wuthering Heights), Hardcastle Crags, Crimsworth Dean, Stoodley Pike, and Heptonstall are local highlights you may like to look up online. By night, we’ll be staying in a warm, idyllic restored barn with a wood burning stove and all mod cons (heating, 2 bathrooms with hot showers, TV, kitchen, pool room with darts and table tennis). And of course the local village pub is just 1 mile away! Please note there will be a small extra charge for electricity, and you will need your own sleeping bag and a torch. Although the barn has good self catering facilities, breakfast can be purchased in advance costing about £3. Kate is happy to organise a ‘themed food evening on Saturday night’ if people fancy it – e.g. Spanish, Mexican or Indian in flavour with vegetarians catered for of course!

Friday 05th September to Sunday 07th September
Hollybush, near Ledbury, Worcs
Berrow House Bunkhouse , Hollybush
Neil invites you to the Berrow House Bunkhouse in Hollybush which is situated at the southern end of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. For those unfamiliar with the area this is a range of hills that combine easy walking with long views and you can also visit the pleasant spa town of Great Malvern. Hollybush is near Eastnor Castle and is a short drive from Ledbury, for pubs, restaurants etc. This is a shorter drive than most of our weekends away and with relatively gentle walking would be an ideal weekend away for our newer or less `hardcore` members.
